Mrs. Mary Brandt, one of the oldest residents of this city, died at 5:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Patrick Quinlin, 1820 Thirteenth avenue, of complications of diseases. She had been confined to her bed for the past four years. Mrs. Brandt was born in County Sligo, Ireland, over ninety years ago, coming to this side in 1857, and residing in this city all her life. She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic church and the Altar society of the church. She is survived by these nieces in addition to Mrs. Quinlin: Mrs. Patrick Kilcoyne and Mrs. Patrick Diffley, of this city; Mrs. Morris Shoffner, of St. Augustine, Cambria county, and Mrs. John McFeeley, of this city. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning, with mass at St. Leo's church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Monday, March 3, 1919, page 4
