BRANDT Long Illness Is Fatal to PRR Veteran George O. Brandt, aged 89, of 3223 Sixth avenue died at 6.10 o'clock this morning in the Altoona hospital where he had been a patient since last Saturday. Mr. Brandt retired as a moulder in the South Altoona foundry March 1, 1932, after 38 years employment. He was born at Lebanon on Feb. 3,1862, a son of Isaac and Rosa Brandt, and there learned his trade. Coming to Altoona he was first employed at the Altoona Iron company, subsequently entering the railroad company service. His wife Mrs. Julia (Rice) Brandt, preceded him in death. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Edith Flaherty of Harrison, N. J., Mrs. Katharine Duncan of Hollidaysburg, Lory D. Brandt of Huntingdon, Mrs. Patricia Desch of McKeesport and Mrs. Dorothy Helsel, with whom he resided: 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Brandt was a member of the Grace Evangelical and Reformed church and of the Eagles. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock tomorrow evening.
