March 5, 1871, a son of Stokes and Martha Jane Branin. Surviving are his widow, Katherine Jane (Hay) Branin; a son, Pfc. Wilbur James Branin, in the army now en route home from the European war theatre, a daughter, Martha Jane at home; a daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. John Miller, Philadelphia; a step- daughter, Mrs. L. A. Carothers, Altoona; two grandchildren, two brothers and a sister, Wilbur F., Medford, N.J., Howard T., Camden, N.J. and Mrs. Cora Ake, Mount Airy, Philadelphia. Mr. Branin was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and for the past nine years he was a sexton at Christ Evangelical and Reformed church.
