Things Briefly Told.

  Yesterday morning a child, one year old, of John Brannan, who lives 
in the Loop, about five miles from Hollidaysburg, choked to death.  It 
picked up a splinter and stuck it in its mouth.  Presently it attempted 
to swallow the piece of wood, but its effort cost it its life.
