On Saturday evening Mr. Michael Brannan died at his residence, No. 716 Seventh avenue, after an illness of several months' duration. Mr. Brannan was about 70 years of age and was born in county Leitrim, Ireland. When a young man he came to the United States, first residing in Baltimore and shortly afterward to Blair county. He had been in this country some fifty years. His wife survives him. The deceased was a good soldier in the late war and was a member of post 62 Grand Army of the Republic. He also belonged to encampment 17, Union Veteran Legion. During the war he belonged to the Sixty-second regiment P. V. He had for a number of years been employed in the railroad shops in this place. The funeral will take place on Tuesday morning, leaving the house at 8.30 o'clock and proceeding to St. Mark's Catholic church, of which he was a member, and in which services will be held.
