Brandt, of Company G, 110th regiment, is a son of Rev. and Mrs. C. H. Brandt, of 1609 Twelfth street, and was well known in the city. He was one of the veterans of Company G, and was quite active last summer in getting the command recruited up to war strength. The young soldier also officiated as a clerk for several days during the examinations of registrants during the latter part of July and August. He was quite popular with the boys of the command and was an excellent soldier. He was about 24 years of age, took a great interest in military matters and was intensely patriotic. His parents could not be located at their home last evening. Altoona Tribune, Wednesday morning, August 14, 1918, page 10
