(WINGARD), 1960 BRANTENER, Seymour, 1950 EDWARDS, Emma (BRANTNER), 1935 JOHN BRANTNER Mr. John Brantner died at his home in Williamsburg on Friday afternoon in the presence of his wife and many of his children. Mr. Brantner had been ailing the greater part of the winter. He was born in Cassville, Huntingdon county, 59 years ago, living most of his life here and in the immediate vicinity. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn for him - five girls and four boys. the remains were interred in the Methodist cemetery on Sunday afternoon. Altoona Morning Tribune, May 3, 1899 ________ JOHN ADAM BRANTNER John Adam Brantner died at his home at Mines, Williamsburg, R.D., Friday night at 8:30 o'clock, death being attributed to a complication of ailments following a lengthy illness. He had been employed at the clay mines until a few years ago when he was forced to retire due to failing health. He was born on Clover Creek on Jan. 24, 1866, a son of John and Sarah (Norris) Brantner and was married on Dec. 31, 1901, in Williamsburg. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Brantner, and these children: Ira Brantner of West Virginia, Mrs. Viola Clapper of Altoona, Mrs. Celia Knepp, Mrs. Sarah McGregor, and Mrs. Emma Kifer, all of Mines, and Sylvester Brantner, at home; thirty-seven grandchildren and one brother, William Brantner of Williamsburg. Altoona Mirror, March 29, 1939 ________ MRS. KETURAH BRANTNER Mrs. Keturah Brantner, wife of John A. Brantner of 1913 Ninth Ave. died of typhoid fever at the Altoona hospital at 5 o'clock last evening. Deceased was born at Williamsburg on June 11, 1866 and was married at that place eleven years ago to Mr. Brantner and with him came to this city eight years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Williamsburg. She is survived by her husband and two children, Ira and Viola, also her parents Mr. and Mrs. William Riley and one brother William and one sister Mrs. Virginia Burket, all of this city. The remains were taken to Williamsburg on the 1:15 train this afternoon and interred in the Lutheran Cemetery of that place. Altoona Mirror, September 19, 1900, Page 6, column 1 MRS. KETURIA BRANTNER At 5 o'clock last evening Mrs. Keturia Brantner, wife of John A. Brantner, of 1913 Ninth avenue, died at the Altoona hospital of typhoid fever. She had been ailing three weeks. Deceased was born at Williamsburg June 11, 1866, and was married at that place eleven years ago to Mr. Brantner, and with him came to this city eight years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran church. She is survived by her husband and two children, Ira and Viola; also by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Riley, and one brother, William, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Burket, all of this city. The remains will be taken to Williamsburg on the 2 o'clock train this afternoon and interred in the Lutheran cemetery at that place. Altoona Tribune, September 19, 1900 ________ SARAH B. BRANTNER Mrs. Sarah B. BRANTNER of Williamsburg died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Andrew Knepp on Sunday morning, Dec. 11, 1960. She was born at Huntingdon Furnace on Sept. 15, 1879 and was a daughter of Samuel and Mary Ellen Briner Wingard. On December 31, 1901 she was married to John A. Brantner who died in 1940. She leaves these children, Mrs. Knepp of Williamsburg, Elwood of Williamsburg, RD, Sylvester of Monroe, N.C., Mrs. John McGregor of Williamsburg, RD and Mrs. Emma Kifer of Williamsburg; a step-son, Ira Brantner of Elk Garden, W. VA., 67 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Mollie Brantner of Williamsburg and a brother, Joseph Wingard of McKees Rocks. She was a member of the Williamsburg Church of God where services were held Dec. 14 in charge of the Rev. David Lykens. Interment followed in the Methodist Cemetery at Ormenia. clipping dated 1960 ________ SEYMOUR P. BRANTENER Of 510 First street, Williamsburg, died in the Altoona hospital at 12.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon after two weeks' illness. Mr. Brantener was born in Williamsburg, R. D. 1 Sept. 7, 1893, the son of Stewart C. and Lucy M. (Isenberg) Brantener. He married Margaret J. Dobson Nov. 7, 1912, in Duncansville. Surviving are his wife, two children, Mrs. Lucy B. Gailey of Williamsburg and Seymour Brantener of Williamsport, and four grandchildren. He was a member of Zion's Lutheran church of Williamsburg and was an active member of the Men's Bible class. Mr. Brantener was employed as a switchboard operator by the Pennsylvania Electric company. Friends will be received at the Friedline funeral home, Williamsburg, after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, October 31, 1950 ________ MRS. EMMA (BRANTNER) EDWARDS Wife of James J. Edwards and a native of Williamsburg and a resident of Yeagerstown for thirty-six years, died at the Lewistown hospital Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. She was born in Williamsburg on March 2, 1880, and was united in marriage with James J. Edwards thirty-five years ago, who survives, with the following children: Mrs. Hulda Prough of Pittsburgh, Clarence Edwards of Wyandotte, Mich., John Edwards of Johnstown, James L., George and Grace Edwards and Mrs. Lucy Lentz, all of Yeagerstown, and two brothers, John Brantner of Oreminea and William Brantner of Williamsburg. The body was brought to Williamsburg where funeral services will be conducted at the Church of God Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and interment will be made in the Williamsburg Lutheran Cemetery.
