At twenty minutes past 7 o'clock yesterday evening John E., son of ex-Mayor Samuel J. and Josephine Breth, died at the home of his parents, 807 Seventh avenue, of typhoid pneumonia. The young man went to Pittsburg last May, where he was employed by the Union American Cigar company. Two weeks ago he returned home seriously ill and was compelled to take [to] his bed, from which he was destined never to rise again in health. The deceased was born in this city, September 9, 1876, being aged 23 years, 1 month and 7 days. Besides his parents, he leaves these brothers and sisters, all residing in Altoona: Charles J., Marry T., William, James, Mary C., and Rose M. He was a dutiful son and a general favorite with all who knew him. He was a member of St. Mark's Roman Catholic church. The funeral arrangements will be announced later. Morning Tribune, Tuesday, October 17, 1899 FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT. The funeral of the late John E. Breth, will leave the residence of his parents, Hon. S. J. Breth and wife, 807 Seventh avenue, at 8.30 o'clock this morning and proceed to St. Mary's German Catholic church, where solemn high mass will be celebrated by Rev. N. J.
