She was born April 24, 1922 in Grazierville, a daughter of Roy M. and Sarah (Hetrick) Hampton. On October 26, 1945 at the United Brethren Church, Tyrone she married James Grover Bridges. He died in 1971. Surviving is a daughter, Maxine Settle and husband George of Birmingham, three sons, John A. and wife Betty Jane of Orlando, Florida, Dick L. and wife Emma of Tyrone, James W. of Altoona, seven grandchildren, Laura Jane Settle of Altoona, John Bridges and wife Michele of Tyrone, Michele Bridges of Tyrone, Dana Lowe and Husband George of Bellwood, George Settle of Birmingham, eight great- grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Martha Hampton, Grazierville, Mary Bartlebaugh of Grazierville, Mildred Bezilla of Kirkland, Ohio and a brother Wilson of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by a sister Marian Wilson and three brothers, Lester, Walter and Roy. Mrs. Bridges was formerly employed at John R. Wald Co., Tyrone Elks, Coachlight Restaurant and the DelGrosso family. She enjoyed gardening and her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Peggy Bonsell officiating. Interment will follow at Logan Valley Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
