He was born March 6, 1948 in Tyrone, the son of John and Louise (Morgan) Brinkman and on November 19, 1976 was married at the First English Lutheran Church to Gail M. Albright who survives. Also surviving are three children: Christine, wife of Daniel Delgrosso of Newport News, Va., David Mills and wife Pamela of Newport News, Va., and John Robert Brinkman Jr., and wife Kimberly of Tyrone. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brian, Keith, Kara and Samantha, three brothers, Barry L and wife Cynthia of Waynesboro, Frederick C. and wife Kathy and Gregory L. and wife Diane all of Tyrone. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Janice Woodring. He was a graduate of the Tyrone High School class of 1966 and retired on disability in 1995 from the Tyrone Borough Highway Department. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and a life member of the Citizens Fire Company. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed growing roses and was a devoted grandfather. Funeral service for Mr. Brinkman will be held Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church with Pastor T.M. Talbot-Moses officiating. Interment will follow in Blair Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., on Friday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m until 10:30 a.m. at the church.
