Altoona Mirror, Monday, September 23, 1968
Of Palm Bay, Fla., formerly of Bellwood, died at 12:05 a.m. Sunday in 
Lakeland, Fla., Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born July 5, 
1900, in Altoona, a daughter of Johnathon and Alice (Steward) Kerlin, and 
married Jesse Brooks on Feb. 12, 1920, in Cumberland, Md. Surviving are her 
husband, a son, Cloyd of Palm Bay; five grandchildren, a brother and a sister, 
Luther Kerlin and Mrs. Olive Dore, both of Altoona. Mrs. Brooks was a member 
of Olivet Baptist Church, Bellwood. Friends will be received in the Russin 
Funeral Home, Bellwood, after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
