Brooks, Who was a resident of this city until a little over a year ago, died at his home in Lebanon, at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He was born in that town 44 years ago and learned the trade of a blacksmith, working at first in Lebanon and afterwards in Newark, N.J. He entered the service during the war and had an honorable record. He came to this city with his family some twelve years ago and was employed in the company's blacksmith shop until ill health compelled him to quit work. He is survived by a wife and eight children, all of them at home, with the exception of Mrs. George Hite, Lexington avenue and Eighth street, this city. His mother and two brothers and one sister also survive. The latter are: George T. of Lebanon, James E. of Altoona, and Mrs. Jane Edinger of Newark, N.J. Mr. and Mrs. Hite and other relatives left for Lebanon today to attend the obsequies. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday Evening, March 28, 1893
