All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ THOMAS EDWARD BROPHY Of 366 East Logan avenue, a veteran of the World war, died at the Altoona hospital at 2:25 o'clock yesterday afternoon of a complication of diseases. He was born on Nov. 22, 1896, a son of John and Mary (Madden) Brophy, and was employed as a machinist in the Altoona works. During the World war he served eleven months at the ------- aviation field. He attended St. Francis college and had served locally as coach for several football teams. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice (Pfeister) Brophy, four children, Mary Alice, Betty, Jane and Frances, and his mother. Mr. Brophy was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church. The funeral will be conducted at 9 o'clock Monday morning with requiem mass in St. Mark's church. Interment will be made in St. Aloysius cemetery. Altoona Mirror, August 9, 1934
