All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ MISS MARIETTA BROWN A lifelong resident of Woodbury and vicinity and one of Morrisons cove's best known church and Sunday school workers, died at the home of her brother Harry K. Brown, in Woodbury, Sunday evening at 10.30 o'clock. Death was attributed to heart failure. She was apparently in the best of health on Sunday and spent the day with a number of invited guests and was stricken only shortly before she passed away. She was born on the Brown homestead at Woodbury, Dec. 10, 1855, the daughter of Abram and Mrs. Mary Keifer Brown, both deceased. She was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren and always took active part in the work of the church and Sunday school. Her Sunday school work was untiring, being a great favorite with the young people and she was devoted to the work in meetings for the young people. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Sara Replogle of Roaring Spring, Rev. Jacob K. Brown of Martinsburg, Philip K. Brown of Waterside, Mrs. Annie Miller of Curryville, and Harry K. Brown of Woodbury, at whose home she died. A sister Mrs. Lydia Strayer, and brother, Mr. Charles I. Brown, are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted in the Woodbury Church of the Brethren Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of her pastor, Rev. J. E. Roland.
