Brown who have been residing at 329 Fifth avenue with their four children - Clare, Baird, Max and Jennie, were surprised last Friday by receiving a telegram that Max, their third son, aged 11 years, who had gone to Worthville, Jefferson county, to spend several weeks of the summer with relatives, was seriously ill. Upon arriving at the side of their son, on Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Brown found him unconscious and fast nearing the end of life. Max had eaten choke cherries which resulted in a painful cramped condition, terminating in his death yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Brown are members of the Second United Brethren church, this city, and Max was a faithful attendant at the Sunday school of the same church. He was a most loveable and dutiful boy and greatly endured [endeared] himself to all who came to know him. The funeral will be held in the neighborhood of Worthville. Mr. U. M. Weaver and wife, in whose home Mr. and Mrs. Brown reside, depart this morning in company with Samuel Clare, the oldest son, to attend the funeral.
