BROWN Died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning, of consumption, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Clapper, corner of Blair and Penn streets, Hollidaysburg. He was born at Woodbury, Bedford county, January 9, 1842. The following brothers and sisters survive him: John and George, of Gibsonburg, O.; Jacob and Frank, of Bedford county; Mrs. Ellen Croft, of Maria, Bedford county; Mrs. Catharine Happley and Mrs. Clapper, of Hollidaysburg. He came to live with his sister, Mrs. Clapper, nearly two years ago and had been sick ever since. He was a soldier in the late war, being a member of the 101st regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was kept a prisoner in Andersonville prison for eight months. Mr. Brown was a carpenter by trade, and lived nearly all his life in Huntingdon, Bedford and Blair Counties. The deceased was a member of the Baptist church. Services will be held at the home this evening at 9 o'clock by Rev. M. Ryan. The remains will be taken tomorrow morning to Potter's church, Bedford county, where services will be held. Interment will be made there. Altoona Mirror, March 27, 1925
