All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ The funeral of Edward Brumbaugh, the young soldier who was killed at Pensacola, Fla., in an air plain [sic] accident and was brought home for burial on last Wednesday was largely attended. The funeral was held at the home of the sisters, Sarah and Ruth Brumbaugh. A large crowd of soldiers and sailors of the World war were in attendance. The casket, which was wrapped in the American flag, was borne to the grave by six comrade three marines and three soldiers. Three volleys were fired over the grave and taps sounded. Rev. Hill, a former pastor of the local Lutheran church, now residing at Swissvale, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. E. E. Hoshour of this place, and a schoolmate of the deceased while at college and now pastor of the Lutheran church at Huntingdon. Martinsburg Herald, November 3, 1922
