Mac Allen Bryan Jr., age 77, of Garden City Beach, S.C., formerly of Tyrone, died Saturday, March 1, 2003 in South Carolina. He was born November 23, 1925 in Bellefonte, the son of the late Mac A. Bryan Sr. and Hazel Aikey Bryan. He was a graduate of the Williamsport Trade School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He retired as a switchman from Bell Telephone in Tyrone following 38 years of service and was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers in Altoona. Mr. Bryan was a former member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Tyrone. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marguerite Peters Bryan, children Mac E. Bryan of State College, Kimberly Stover and husband Jack of Houston, and Jennifer Bryan of Tyrone. He is also survived by grandchildren Amanda Bryan of Tyrone, Craig Stover of Houston, Texas and sisters Sara Long of Howard, Phyllis Rhoades and Polly Mensch of Bellefonte. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Berlin United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the church choir, PO Box 528, Murrels Inlet, S.C. 29576. Tyrone Daily Herald, March 4, 2003
