Alexander Buchanan, the representative of a well known Blair county family, numbered among the first settlers of the Juniata valley, died at his home in Duncansville yesterday morning at 7 o'clock, of dropsy. Mr. Buchanan was born in Hollidaysburg, on June 30, 1812. His wife preceded him to the grave November 14, 1883. He leaves no children. A sister, Mrs. Morrow, resides in Tyrone township. The deceased was a member of the first Presbyterian church of Hollidaysburg and was a man of unswerving integrity and honorable dealings. The funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock, at his late home. Interment will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery. Morning Tribune, Friday, February 23, 1900
