Buck, of 918 First avenue, died at Altoona hospital at 1:25 o'clock this morning, of a complication of diseases, following a lengthy illness. He was admitted to the institution last night at 11:15. The man was single. The body was prepared for burial by Rorher & Mauk, of Juniata. Altoona Tribune, Friday morning, June 7, 1918, page 10 George E. Buck of 918 First avenue, died at 1:25 o'clock yesterday morning at the Altoona hospital following an operation for appendicitis. He had only been admitted a few hours before his death. He was the son of George W. and Anna Beck, deceased, and was born July 19, 1878, spending practically his entire life in this city. He was unmarried and is the last member of the family, being survived by two nieces and two nephews only. The nieces are Miss Mabel Buck of 918 First avenue, Mrs. D. C. McCormick of this city, and the nephews, C. S. Buck now in France with the American forces, and Charles W. of this city, now in training at Ayer, Mass. Mr. Buck attended the First United Brethren church and was a member of the P.R.R. relief. The funeral services will be held at the house at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in charge of Dr. Charles S. Parker, pastor of the First United Brethren church. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Saturday morning, June 8, 1918, page 14
