On Monday morning Michael Buck, a German living near East Sharpsburg, died. His death was not occasioned by any particular disease, but came very probably through old age and exposure. He came to America about 1835, and the first labor done by him after landing upon American soil was to help build the breast of the reservoir. Mr. Buck was an industrious man. His trade was milling, which he followed successfully for many years on the classic Piny [Piney] Creek and surrounding country, but his better days were spent on the small farm which he owned. Had he lived till July 6, 1881, he would have attained the age of 76. He leaves no children, but a widow and many friends to mourn his departure. He was a member of the German Reformed Church for many years. Interment took place yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the German Reformed grave yard at East Sharpsburg.
