WILLIAM MILES BUCK

Of 807 East Caroline Avenue, a retired Altoona school district 
employee, died last night at 11:20 o'clock at his home.  He was born in 
Tyrone, January 23, 1871, a son of Christian and Louanna (Ealy) Buck, 
and married Mary Ellen Harris, who died in 1942.  Mr. Buck was employed 
as assistant school district engineer from 1922 until 1939.  Surviving 
are these children:  Mrs. Rhoda Becker of Long Beach, California; Mrs. 
Jack Summers, Mrs. Margaret McClain and Dorothy Meyer, all of Altoona, 
and Mrs. Grace Buckner of Flint, Michigan; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-
grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. S. Mertie Harnden of Altoona and Mrs. 
Mae Dunkle of Tyrone, and a brother, Fred C. Buck of Tyrone.  He was a 
member of the Third Evangelical United Brethren Church.  Friends will 
be received at the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home after 7 o'clock this 
evening.
