BUCKLE Widow of William Buckle, lifelong resident of Newry and vicinity, died this morning at 1 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dalton Black, in Newry following a lengthy illness. She was a daughter of David and Catharine (Stiffler) Leighty and was born near Newry on April 2, 1862. She was united in marriage with Mr. Buckle on Christmas day, 1884. Mr. Buckle died on April 12, 1932. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary C. Black, at whose home she died; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three brothers and one sister, David A., Marvey B., and Lloyd Leighty and Mrs. G. W. Weaver, all of Newry. Mrs. Buckle was a member of the Newry Lutheran church. Friends will be received at the Liebegott funeral home in Duncansville after 7 o'clock this evening. BUCKLE - Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth J. Buckle of Newry will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, D.S.T., in the Liebegott funeral home in Duncansville in charge of Rev. L. L. Harchler (?). Interment in the Newry Lutheran cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, April 26, 1946
