Burchfield, 86, 5305 6th Ave., died Monday afternoon, Dec. 25, 1995, at Valley View Home, following an extended illness. He was born March 25, 1909, in Altoona, the son of T. Raymond and Susan E. (Schultz) Burchfield. He married Audrey Wissinger on Aug. 31, 1933, in Altoona. Mr. Burchfield was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He retired as a senior company property records field clerk from Penelec in 1974, after 48 years of service. Mr. Burchfield was a 34-year veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard and retired as a supply sergeant from the Frankstown Armory. He was a 1926 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and attended Penn State University. Mr. Burchfield was a member of the Altoona Kiwanis Club, Tyrone Elks, Heidelberg Country Club, Bavarian Aid Society, Knights of Columbus, and the Knights of St. George, past president of the Eldorado Kiwanis Club, and secretary/treasurer and charter member of the former Penelec Eastern Division Credit Union. Surviving are his wife; five sons: Robert A. and J. Joseph, both of Altoona, Ronald E. of Chicago, and David E. and Thomas R., both of Duncansville; two daughters: Judith A. Athey and Marilyn Farabaugh, both of Altoona; two sisters: Pauline McGuire of Altoona and Jane Reddick of State College; a brother, G. Mark of Huntsville, Ala; 32 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. A son, Theodore D., died Oct 13, 1954. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stevens Mortuary. BURCHFIELD - The funeral of Theodore D. Burchfield of 5305 6th Ave. will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, by Father Michael Becker. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1431 8th Ave., where a wake service will be held this evening. He was also preceded in death by three grandchildren: Raymond G. Green II, Kelly P. Green and Douglas M. Burchfield; a great-grandson, Ryan Ergler; and son-in-law, Raymond G. Green.
