Burd, a prominent dentist residing in Bellwood, dropped dead yesterday morning as he alighted from an automobile along the Juniata river near Huntingdon, where he had gone to spend part of the day fishing, with a party of anglers. They were taken to the scene by Charles E. Figart, and he expired instantly on alighting from the --?. Dr. Burd, accompanied by E. F. Barrett, jeweler, W. S. Bolesbaugh, newspaper editor, and W. B. Dysart, who traveled in the Figart car, left Bellwood at 6 o'clock this morning for Huntingdon to spend the day fishing and they reached their destination before 8 o'clock, when Dr. Burd was taken ill. Members of the party remained at Huntingdon during the morning, notifying Bellwood relatives by telephone. The body was turned over to Huntingdon funeral directors and will be brought to Bellwood today. Dr. Burd, who resided at 532 Main street, Bellwood, was one of the best known residents of the town.
