Burget of 3929 Fifth avenue, Altoona, a well known retired Pennsylvania railroad carpenter, died at 2:45 o'clock Monday morning at the Mercy hospital. Death resulted from a complication of diseases. Mr. Burget had been ill only for the past two weeks and his death came as a shock to his many friends and acquaintances. He was admitted to the Mercy hospital last Tuesday. Mr. Burget was a native of Blair county, having been born at Martinsburg on July 29, 1843, the son of David and Catharine Burget, both deceased. He spent his boyhood days in the vicinity of his birthplace. He went to Altoona when a young man and entered the employ of the Pennsylvania railroad company as a carpenter and remained with that corporation until his retirement nine years ago from the Altoona shops. He was united in marriage fifty years ago to Alice Snyder, who survives with two sons, Walter B. and James Cloyd, both of Altoona. A sister, Miss Susan Burget, who made her home with her brother, also survives. Four grandchildren also survive. Mr. Burget was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends and acquaintances and he was well thought of in the community in which he made his home. Mr. Burget worshipped in the Reformed faith all his life. He was affiliated with the Uniform Rank, Knights of Malta, No. 66, in Altoona. Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, and the remains brought to this place Wednesday morning, where interment was made in Fairview cemetery.
