George Burk, a well known man of town, died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock, of tuberculosis of the lungs at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Burk, on South Montgomery street. Deceased was born at Hollidaysburg on April 29, 1870, and was thus aged 49 years. He was unmarried and was employed as a laborer and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters and a brother - Mrs. Olive Allen, of Philadelphia; Mrs. G. S. Hitchings and Frank Burk, all of Hollidaysburg. The funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's church. Interment will be made at St. Mary's cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Friday, February 28, 1919, page 4
