BURKET - Departed this life, near Claysburg, at the residence of her son, Mr. George Burket, May 6, 1880, Mrs. Barbara Burket, aged 86 years. The deceased was afflicted with paralysis, and for several weeks previous to her death she lay entirely helpless, moving only as she was lifted in the tender arms of those who waited on her. Having loved the Savior, having lived for Him, joyfully she could commit her soul to his keeping. Calmly, peacefully she passed from earth with all its cares, sufferings and conflicts, and entered into that haven of peace where she shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. She died as she lived, in the hope of a blessed immortality. She always realized a knowledge of sins forgiven, and rejoiced in the certainty of the rest prepared for the people of God. May all those near and dear to the departed, so live that when their career on earth is ended they likewise may enter those mansions of rest and meet her there. She leaves six children, forty-one grandchildren and seven great-grand children. Mrs. Burket was for sixty years a consistent member of the Reformed Church. She was interred in the cemetery at Claysburg, to which place her remains were followed by hosts of relatives and friends. "Weep not that her toils are over; Weep not that her race is run; God grant we may rest as calmly When our work like hers is done." L. S. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday, May 28, 1880
