David S. Burket, an aged and respected resident of the Second ward, Altoona, 
died at his home, 609 Eight street, at 4:40 o’clock Wednesday May 19, of 
cerebral opoplexy after a long illness.   Deceased was the son of P. H. and 
Nancy Burket, was born on the Burket homestead, near Warrior’s Mark, and was 
aged 74 years, one month and three days.  He had resided in Altoona for some 
years.  He leaves his wife but no children and the family for many years 
consisted of himself, his wife and his wife’s sister, Miss Belle McKinney, who 
survive with these brothers, and sisters: William and John Burket, of Warrior’s 
Mark; Mrs. Jerry Ike and G. W. Burket, of Altoona; Howard Burket, of Sinking 
Valley, and Mrs. H. H. Waite, of Huntingdon.
