HETTIE BURKET Taylor township lost her oldest resident on Saturday when Mrs. Hettie Burket, aged 94 years, succumbed to diseases incident to old age following a protracted illness. For a number of years the aged woman has resided with her son, James, at his home in Taylor township, two and one half miles south of Roaring Spring and it was here that death occurred. During the week previous to her death, the aged woman was in a semi-conscious condition. A member of the Dick family previous to her marriage, she is the last of her family. She was born in Taylor township and her entire life was spent in that vicinity, her father and husband both being engaged in farming. Since girlhood, she has been a faithful member of the Brethren church of the township and as long as her health permitted was a regular attendant at all services. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George Albright, and two sons, James and William Burket, all of Taylor township. The funeral was held on Monday morning and the remains laid to rest beside those of her husband, who died many years ago, in Albright cemetery. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Harry H. Rasher of Roaring Spring, pastor of the Albright Brethren church. Altoona Mirror, Tuesday, 16 December 1919 MRS. ESTHER BURKET Mrs. Esther Burket died at the home of her son, James D. She was brought to the home of her son, James, just three weeks ago where she gradually grew weaker until she passed away. She was aged 90 years, 10 months and 2 days. She was a member of the Brethren church for fifty-five years, and was a kind and helpful neighbor and a loving mother.
