He was born near East Freedom on Aug. 11, 1877, a son of Jacob and Delilah (Burkheimer) Burket, and married Miss Mary C. Hanley on Jan. 16, 1904, in Juniata. Mr. Burket retired as a machinist in the Juniata shops on July 1, 1937 after thirty-eight years employment. Surviving are his wife, the following children, Mrs. Charles R. Beale of Essington, Pa., Rev. Clair L. Burket of Beauty, Ky., Mrs. R. E. Crider of the city, John H. of Essington and Mrs. Robert A. Keller of the city, ten grandchildren, one sister and one brother, Mrs. Mary Smith of Schellsburg and Harry Burket of Roaring Spring. Mr. Burket was a member of the Calvary Baptist church and of the Jr. O.U.A.M. No. 372. Friends may call at the Lafferty funeral home after 4 o'clock Monday afternoon.
