Burket, Sr., 53, of RD1 Box 115, Altoona, died Sunday morning, July 2, 2006 at the Altoona Regional Trauma Center. He was born January 2, 1953 in Altoona, a son of Lester Clinton and Myrtle Marie (Worley) Burket. He was married March 1, 1974 at Las Vegas, Nevada to Maureen P. Thompson. He is survived by his wife in Altoona and one son, Ralph A. Burket, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Tyrone. Also, his mother, Myrtle Burket of Clark Hill, S.C., one brother and three sisters: Lester C. Burket, Jr. (Ardith) of Virginia Beach, Va.; Bonnie L. Light (Richard Charles) of Clark Hill, S.C.; Carol A. Smith and Billie Jo Shinn of Altoona. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Connie M. Burket. He was a graduate of Bellwood High School in 1970. He served in the US Navy from 1970 to 1979 during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. He was employed for the past 15 years as an Electronic Technician at the US Post Office Distribution Center in Duncansville. Funeral services and flag presentation will be held Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Robert Dunkelberger officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour before the service on Thursday.
