All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ SHOPMAN EXPIRES ON FISHING TRIP Samuel Henry Burket, well known Altoona works shopman and residing at McKee, died early this morning, the body being found beside the road near J. L. Noffsker store in McKee. A physician who was summoned pronounced death due to a heart attack. Mr. Burket was off work for the day and arose early to follow his usual inclination when not working, fishing in the Juniata river. He left the house at 4.20 o'clock and presumably walked to the northern end of McKee when he was taken ill and turned toward home, reaching the Noffsker store before being overcome. A passing motorist saw the body by the side of the road and notified a son, Franklin Burket, who resides near the parental home and who called a physician. Mr. Burket was a son of William and Mary (Morrison) Burket and was born in Taylor township on March 24, 1879. He was united in marriage on Jan. 1, 1900, with Miss Naomi Helsel, who survives, with these children: Franklin Burket of McKee, Miss Pearl Burket, at home, Amanda, wife of James Smith of Hollidaysburg, R.D. No. 1, and Charles Burket of Roaring Spring. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Gertrude Burket of New Enterprise, Mrs. Esther Schoettle of Toledo, O., George Burket, last known address, Duncansville, Harvey Burket of Roaring Spring and Matthew Burket of Toledo, O. Mr. Burket was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and had been employed by the Pennsylvania railroad for thirty-two years, most of which was with the Altoona works in this city. The body may be viewed at the home. Services will be held at the home in McKee on Tuesday morning at 10.30. Interment following in the Albright cemetery. Friends are being received at the home. As was his custom, when not working, he had gone fishing early that morning but died en route to the river. He was 58 years of age and besides his wife and four children, is survived by two sisters and three brothers, of whom Gertrude Burket resides in New Enterprise.
