Burket died at his mountain home about two miles south of Roaring Spring on August 3, 1921. He had been ill since the first part of the year, suffering from dropsy and heart trouble, and death came as a relief. Mr. Burket was the son of Henry and Esther Burket and was born at Sarah Furnace, July 2, 1853, being aged 69 years, 1 month, 1 day. He was twice married, the first wife being Miss Charlotte Rhodes. To this union one daughter was born, who survives, and is Mrs. Sarah Jane Lynn, of Scalp Level. After the death of his first wife he again married, this time to Miss Mary Morrison, of Ore Hill, and to this union nine children were born. The wife and six children survive, viz.--Samuel Burket, of McKee; Harvey Burket, of near Ore Hill; George Burket, of Duncansville, and Matthew, at home; Mrs. Gertrude Decker, of Claysburg; and Mrs. Essie -----, of Ohio. Three children, Benjamin, Daniel, and Mae, preceded the father to the grave. He is also survived by one brother, James D. Burket of near Roaring Spring and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Albright, of Baker's Summit, and Mrs. Kate McConnell, of Johnstown. Mr. Burket spent his entire life in this vicinity and had many friends who will remember him as always being strictly honest. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Albright Church of the Brethren, of which he was a member, and were conducted by Rev. James Brumbaugh, assisted by Rev. Charles Garber. Interment in cemetery adjoining. Morrisons Cove Herald, Morrison Cove, Pa., Friday, August 12, 1921
