ALLEN E. BURKHOLDER DIES IN MERCY HOSPITAL

  Allen E. Burkholder, East Altoona, died Sunday morning; at 12:20 at 
the Mercy hospital following a brief illness.  
  He was a retired machinist at the East Altoona roundhouse.  He 
retired after 47 years service.
  He was born June 9, 1884, in Logan Township, the son of William L. 
and Savanna Riggle Burkholder. 
  He leaves his wife Margaret Fornwalt and one son, William F. of 
Philadelphia.  One son Elvin W. died in 1951.  He leaves four 
grandchildren; also four brothers: M. C. Burkholder of Juniata; Clyde 
R., of Fostoria; Jacob M. of Coburn; and John of Bellwood.
  He was a Methodist by faith.
  Funeral services will be at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon held at 
Mauk and Yates funeral home in charge of the Rev. Charles Logan.  
Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.  
  Friends are being received at the funeral home.
