BURKHOLDER Of 408 Logan Avenue, South Lakemont, died at 9:35 o'clock this morning at the Altoona Hospital where he was admitted at 1 o'clock this morning. Mr. Burkholder had been in ill health for the past five years. He was born in Chambersburg, May 02, 1877, a son of David and Elizabeth Burkholder, and married Clemma Stevens in Lancaster, August 16, 1898. The family had resided in Altoona for more than 40 years, Mr. Burkholder having been employed by the Pennsylvania railroad for some years in the South Altoona foundry. Surviving are his wife, six daughters: Mrs. George Fink and Mrs. William Palmer of South Altoona; Miss Ella at home; Mrs. William Doran, Mrs. William McCann and Mrs. Ethel Landeck all of the city; eight grandchildren, one great- grandchild and one brother [sic], Mrs. Ella Shatz of Lancaster. Mr. Burkholder was of the Baptist faith. Friends will be received at the Gilden-Barton funeral home after noon on Saturday. Altoona Mirror, January 17, 1949
