Harry Burley Died at His Home in Altoona Sunday Evening. W. H. H. Burley died at his home in Altoona at 7.15 o'clock last evening from consumption. Harry Burley, as he was commonly known, was born at Smokers Forge, near Williamsburg, April 27, 1837. He was the son of William and Elizabeth Burley. When the subject of this article was quite young the family came to Tyrone. His father, who was one of Tyrone's first justices of the peace, died here a few years after the civil war, and his mother died here also in June, 1893, a sister, Mrs. Anna Loudon, having died in September of the year before. Harry Burley grew to manhood here when the town was quite small. He enlisted and served three years in the 110th regiment in the civil war, spending a season in one of the southern military prisons during that service. A brother, Frank Burley, who was also a soldier in the 110th regiment, was shot through the lungs at the battle of Gettysburg and died from the wound. After the war Harry Burley returned to Tyrone, but a few years later went to Altoona, where he had since lived, being employed in the passenger car finishing department, of which his brother, John L. Burley, is foreman. He is survived by one son, William C., and one daughter, Lottie. One sister and two brothers survive, viz.: Mrs. Lucinda Adair, of Tyrone; John L. Burley, of Altoona, and Winfield S. Burley, of Philadelphia. The funeral will be held at 8.30 o'clock tomorrow morning. Interment in St. John's cemetery, Altoona.
