Jacob Burley, who departed this life January 7, 1889, died at her home on Lincoln avenue yesterday morning at 1.50 o'clock after a short illness of la grippe. Although not strong nor healthy for a year or so past, she was able to attend to domestic duties up until last Thursday. Mrs. Burley, whose maiden name was Igou, was born in Antis township, then Huntingdon county, on the old Igou farm, about two miles north of Bellwood, June 22, 1822, and at death was aged 68 years, 9 months and 21 days. On the 24th day of June, 1841, she was married to Jacob Burley at the home of her uncle, Jacob Igou, near Bellwood. To this union were born four sons and one daughter, one of whom only survives, Henry C., a deaf mute, who with his wife, also a deaf mute, and their two children made their home with the mother. She also leaves one brother, George W. Igou, of Lamoille, Bureau county, Ill. Mrs. Burley was very domestic in her habits and her home at all times was a paragon of cleanliness and neatness. Her only cares were that her husband and children might have a good pleasant home. She was a devoted and conscientious Christian woman, a faithful member for many years in the Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral services to be conducted by Rev. R. H.
