Calvin Burns of 405 Cherry avenue, died at the family home at 12.40 o'clock Monday afternoon, of diabetes. Deceased was born at Rodman Furnace, Blair county, 64 years ago, the daughter of Elias and Caroline Griffith. She was united in marriage March 19, 1879, to J. Calvin Burns, who survives with the following children: Mrs. G. W. Peight of 419 Cherry avenue, John C. of 421 Spruce avenue, Charles E. of 117 Maple avenue, Mrs. William Leischer of Cleveland, O., and L. A. Burns of 1318 First avenue. Eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren also survive along with the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Lydia Adams of Juniata, Mrs. I. B. Rhine, John Griffith, George W. Griffith and Mrs. John Fickes. She was a devout Christian woman and was an active worker and member of the Grace Methodist church. She was also affiliated with the Pythian Sisters and Mountain Temple, No. 5, Ladies of the Golden Eagle. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon from the Grace Methodist church. Rev.
