Burns, former resident of Roaring Spring, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Sollenberger, in Norwalk, O., Wednesday, Nov. 4 [1959]. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring, by the Rev. Orville Warner. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery. She was born in Henrietta, Nov. 18, 1880, the daughter of Edward T. and Ruth (Ullery) Snyder. She was married to Grant Burns, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sollenberger, and Mrs. Marie Burns of Newark, N.J., one sister, Mrs. Pearl Burket of Roaring Spring, three brothers, William of Pittsburgh, Frank of Roaring Spring and Jessie of Erie, and one grandchild. clipping [Altoona Mirror, November 5, 1959]
