WESLEY BURNS Illness Fatal to War Veteran C. Wesley Burns, 69, of the old 6th Ave. Road, near Duncansville, died at 12.20 p.m. Saturday in the Altoona Veterans Administration Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona on April 8, 1892, a son of Christopher and Sarah (Powell) Burns, and in 1917 married Minnie Corless. Mr. Burns was a lifelong member of the Simpson Methodist Church in Altoona, a retired electrician of the Pennsylvania Railroad, an Army veteran of World War I and an active member of Charles R. Rowan Post, American Legion. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Jane Keen of Duncansville, a grandson, two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Mary Heinbaugh, Jesse and Sheldon of Altoona and Mrs. Sarah Shepard of Tampa, Fla. Friends will be received at the Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville, after 7 p.m. today. In tribute to the active veteran the Rowan Post members of the American Legion will gather at 1 o'clock Wednesday at the funeral home, the honor guard to be in full uniform.
