All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ DAVID BURNS, A well known retired shopman, died at 10:30 this morning at his home, 804 Fourth avenue, of a complication of diseases, due to old age. He had been ill about a year, though only confined to his bed for three months. He was born June 20, 1837, near Tipton, being the last surviving member of a family of sixteen children. He came to Altoona in 1861, entering the Pennsylvania railroad wheel foundry that same year, and had been employed by the company from then until he was retired, in 1902. He was married, the first time, on July 4, 1861, to Lydia Houseman (deceased), being again married, April 17, 1907, to Minerva K. Weibley, who survives, with one daughter by the first marriage, Mrs. Ada Rainey of this city. He was a member of the First Lutheran church and of the Pennsylvania railroad relief.
