"Ginger" Burns Retired from Seabrook Blanching and Flavored Nuts Georgene B. "Ginger" Burns, 73, of 1316 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone, died Friday, February 22, 2002 at 11:47 a.m. in the Emergency Room of Tyrone Hospital. She was born June 1, 1928, at Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Mary Klancher Glaven and on June 29, 1950, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, she was married by Father O'Malley to Robert Burns who preceded her in death November 20, 1990. She is survived by one son, Thomas C. and wife, Chea, of Hope Mills, North Carolina; one daughter Denise L., wife of Stephen Sellers of Warriors Mark; five granddaughters; Jennifer Sellers, of Warriors Mark, and Rachael, Christian, Ashlin and Sasha Burns all of Hope Mills; one great- grandson, Robert Sellers; one sister, Delores Tomazic of Joliet, Illinois; and one brother, Dennis Glaven of Illinois. Mrs. Burns retired from Seabrook Blanching and Flavored Nuts after many years service and later worked for a time in the Tyrone Borough offices. She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, was an active member of the Tyrone Senior Center, The Lutheran Church Quilting Group and a member of PEPPI. Funeral Mass will be said Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church with Father Joseph T. Orr as celebrant. Internment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. where a Christian Wake service will be held Tuesday evening.
