Mrs. JOSEPH G. W. BURNS.
Dies Suddenly at her Home Near Canan's Station

  Mrs. Jos. G. W. Burns, an aged lady, died suddenly, of paralysis, at 
11:30 o'clock this morning at her residence near Canan's station, on 
the Hollidaysburg branch road.  Her husband died on the 18th of last 
month.  The deceased was a member of the First Lutheran church, of this 
city.  She was the mother of twelve children, of whom Mrs. W. B. Stahl 
and Mrs. R. R. Robinson preceded her to the grave.  The following 
children survive: Mrs. D. S. Kerr of this city, Mrs. W. P. Beigler of 
Williamsport, Mrs. D. S. Gibboney of Duncansville, Mrs. R. C. Stiffler 
of Stiffler station, Mrs. Ed P. Gamble of Altoona, Mrs. J. B. Tarr of 
Canan station, Mrs. M. Carnahan of Hagerstown, Md., J. Harris Burns of 
Altoona, and Miss Cora M. and Robert C. Burns, living at home.  She 
also leaves twenty-two grand-children and three great-grand-children.  
The funeral announcement will be made tomorrow.

Funeral Announcements.

  The funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Margaret L. Burns, 
whose death was announced yesterday, will take place at the homestead 
near Canan's station, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and will be 
conducted by Rev. E. D. Weigle, her pastor, and Rev. J. F. Hartman, of 
the Second Lutheran church.  The interment will be made in the Carson 
Valley cemetery.  Those who may wish to attend the services can take 
the Hollidaysburg train on the afternoon of the funeral, as stops will 
be made at Burn's crossing, on the branch, to accommodate all in going 
to or returning from the obsequies.
