W. Burns, at Duncansville, Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Burns was brought to the home of her son at Duncansville a week or two ago. Her maiden name was Butler and she was born in Greenfield township, Blair county, June 23, 1850, being in her 74th year. Many years ago she was united in marriage with George W. Burns, who preceded her to the grave in 1917. Tot his union were born four children: Mrs. Annie Eberly, who died about five years ago; Mrs. Essie Shade, of 2922 Fourth avenue, this city; Miss Grace, of East Freedom, and A.W., of Duncansville. Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. She was the fourth member of a family of five children. The surviving members are Mrs. Ellen Walters of Claysburg; Mrs. Lucinda Strayer of Duncansville, and Sylvester Butler, of East Altoona. She was a leading member of the Reformed church at Claysburg. Funeral arrangement have not been completed except that interment will be made in Riverview cemetery at Leamersville. {Johnstown papers please copy.) Altoona Tribune, 7 November 1923
