BURNS, Widow of Isaac Burns, who died at her home, 708 Logan avenue, Saturday afternoon, was born in Sinking Valley, May 4, 1830, the daughter of Jonathan and Sarah Beard and was one of the oldest residents in the city. She was the mother of twelve children, nine of whom preceded her to the grave. The following children survive: Mrs. Charles Filer of 1517 Fourth avenue, George and Harry E. Burns and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Mary Oster, all at home. Mother Burns as she was called by all who knew her, was greatly beloved in the community and her death will be mourned by all, and particularly by her children to whom she was always a kind and loving mother. Twelve grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren also survive. She was a member of the Eighth Avenue Methodist church and attended regularly while her health permitted. She was also affiliated with the Daughters of Malta and the G.A.R. Circle No. S. The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Filer, 1517 Fourth avenue, in charge of her pastor.
