Butler, 81, Tyrone, formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away late Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. She was born on July 27, 1924 at Martinsburg RR 1, daughter of the late David R. and Mary Elizabeth (Lehman) Hoover. She married Irvin J. Butler on Oct. 24, 1950 in Winchester, VA. He died April 17, 1975. Mrs. Butler was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Roaring Spring, and had recently attended First English Lutheran Church, Tyrone. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Butler was a 1942 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. Surviving are a son, James N. (wife, Joyce) of Tyrone; a daughter, Joyce D. Bathurst (husband, Duane) of Shelby Township, MI; two granddaughters: Emily Oakes (husband, Joseph) and Abby Coffey (husband, Donald); a great granddaughter, Ellie Oakes, and a brother, David W. "Doc" Hoover of Martinsburg. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Kenneth, Wilson, Robert and Herbert; and three sisters: Ruth Szymckec, Phoebe Weaver and infant, Ethel. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, March 10, 2006 and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, with Pastor Larry H. Louder officiating. Interment will be made at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Heart Association. Tyrone Daily Herald, March 10, 2006
