Butler Dies At His Home After Long Illness Monday evening at 8:30, David R. Butler quietly passed away at his home, 426 Locust street, after a long illness due to complication of diseases. Mr. Butler for a number of years was employed as foreman of the boiler plant at the D. M. Bare Paper mill, a position which he filled in a highly efficient and successful manner until impaired health necessitated him to relinquish his duties. Mr. Butler was born at McKee on Dec. 3, 1885, a son of David and Levina Butler, both now deceased. Surviving are his wife, Verna (Albright) Butler; one daughter, Miss Evelyn Butler, a student nurse in the Mercy hospital in Altoona, and one son, Donald Butler, at home. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, Harry G. Butler of Roaring Spring, Mrs. Verna Lingenfelter of East Freedom and Mrs. Harry Osterle of Martinsburg. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Roaring Spring and of the Men's Bible class. Funeral services were conducted at the home in charge of his pastor, Rev. S. P. Early, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was made in the Albright cemetery, Roaring Spring.
