All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ WILLIAM BUTLER, One of Hollidaysburg's respected citizens, died at his home at that place yesterday morning at 4 o'clock of paralysis. The deceased was born in Bellefonte Nov. 6, 1820. He was married in 1841 to Miss Elizabeth Snyder of Newry. Early in life he removed from Bellefonte to Hollidaysburg, where he was employed on the Pennsylvania canal, the Old Portage road, and later on the Pennsylvania railroad. Mr. Butler served in the late war and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Grand Army of the Republic Post No. 39. The deceased is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Anthony Relofs, of Pittsburg, also by one brother, David Butler, of Williamsport. The funeral services will be held at the residence of Edwin S. Eberman, on Walnut street, on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery. Altoona Mirror, March 30, 1896
