Altoona Tribune, October 23, 1884
Patrick F. Connelly, a well known man of this city, died Wednesday about 12 
o'clock, aged 45 years and 5 months.  Mr. Connelly was born in County Cavan, 
Ireland in 1839 and came to this county in 1856, and for several years held the 
position of steward at the Scott house in Pittsburgh and afterward served in the 
same capacity at the Logan house in this city, but for a number of years has been 
employed as a machinist in the company's shops.  He was well liked by his 
friends, who were numerous and who will read the announcement of his death with 
regret.  Besides his wife he leaves seven children to mourn their loss.
